Z4 Driver - Death by dangerous driving

The Police then started to call them RTI's Road Traffic Incidents, now they're known as RTC's Road Traffic Collisions.
It's like this Facebook page I get newsfeeds from called ' Idiot UK Drivers Exposed' or something similar, where people can post dashcam footage of what looks like wreckless driving, but if you don't get any other details or previous footage then it could really deceive the viewer into believing a certain incident occurred for the wrong reasons.
This story seems quite vague too.

Seems to indicate that he hadn't been 'racing' and didn't realise the bike was going to turn off into the same direction as him. So could it be that the bike has been making a manoeuvre and gone to go across the front and then touched, sending him off his bike.
 
It sounds now like there are 2 likely scenarios.
The bike cut across the front of the car to take a turn or the car went up the inside of the bike as the bike was turning.
Both to blame really, the bike for not looking before turning and the car for being too close.
 
Another newspaper reported that the only damage to the car was a slight scuff mark on the spokes of the offside rear wheel, likely to have been made by the front wheel of the bike. You can envisage how he might have lost the front of the bike then skidded into the rear wheel of the car or equally possible, they could have clipped one another causing the bike to lose control.
 
I don't know. Unless your Z4 is in a bad state and you need to keep the revs up, there is no need to "gun the engine".

Maybe the driver misread the rider's revving to alert to his presence as an invite to race. Whichever way the vehicles touched and sadly someone died. As a car driver and a biker I always let e bike go. Dirivers need to be aware that no matter what happens, intentions, attitudes the lot. If the two of you accidentally touch the biker could be killed.

If he's being an idiot, let him go. As a driver be aware you are piloting a ton of metal and regardless of how fast/threatened/intimidated or big you think you are, you'll always win against a bike in the end of you touch. And at the end of it all, will it ruin your day? So he goes back and say "I did a Z4!" So what? And conversely does it really make you feel big to say, I did a sports car on my bike?

My bike will have 90% of cars, but I just like riding. Safely.

Well here's the roundabout in question, there's a lot going on there. Based on experiences going north to south through this junction with motorcyclists I have a hypothesis.

The Z4 is in the nearside lane, motorcycle to the off-side of the Z4, both accelerate away briskly. The motorcyclist gets in the rear 3/4 blind spot so the driver doesn't actually know he's still there. The motorcyclist expects the Z4 driver to pull to the nearside lane once they're on the A449 as it's clear, however the Z4 driver holds the off-side lane. As 2 lanes merge into one the motorcyclist is squeeze against the barrier and they touch.

If it was that then biker was an idiot.
He would be in control of the car moving across towards him and if he just sat in the blind spot what did he think was going to happen if he didnt move/brake/accelerate.

On balance would seem to have been a serious lack of judgement on the bikers part.

First of a correction, the car isn't moving across into the off-side lane, the off-side lane is merging into the nearside lane. This seems to be a relatively rare occurrence on roads at speed. Normally the near side lane disappears on open/clear road but when you do get the off-side lane merging into the nearside it's normally at road works etc. with significantly reduced speeds. This offside merge into nearside arrangement quite often seems to take people by surprise on the junction I have experience of. Also the driver to the offside seems not to be aware or able to see what's approaching on the near side of the vehicle on their the near side. So when they manage to get in the blind spot of a vehicle on their near side, which is different for every vehicle, things are happening that are unexpected and then mistakes are made.

We will never actually know what happened but by the sounds of it, it's been a case of wrong place at the wrong time. Possibly the type of car and age of driver has been used to discriminate against him. Doubt of it had been a 1.0l micra this action would have been brought.
