Z4 coupe knob options

What are the options for a nicer gear knob for the z4 please? I know I’m opening myself up for a barage of jokes :rofl: but am seriously after something with a slightly heavier more positive feel but don’t want it to look too aftermarket. Is there an m sport leather option?

The BMW ZHP gear knob is also a popular choice as it is slightly shorter and heavier than the OE one. I bought one in 2017 and it's much better than what BMW fitted!

I currently have the ZHP, which is so much better than the stock one. Will switch soon to the Performance version.
 
Would highly recommend the storm motorwerks V4 knob. You can choose leather or alcanta as a wrap to match your interior. Looks great if you have the aluminium dash

I went for the ZHP knob and really liked it.

As an alternative have a look for MTech Gear Knobs on ebay - I got them to make up my own design (you can choose shape, fonts, text etc) to be engraved and the knobs are really weighty. I got one for my old Celica GTFour - think I paid £40 for this one.

Thanks guys - am I right in assuming the leather ZHP one is a little shorter than the standard one so drops the height down a bit?
 
Yes it does. The difference in the throw and feel is night and day though, transforms the gear shifting.

Ah that’s a shame, yes it was a screw on knob I think the z4 has a push on style. It’s a shame as it’s great value I think they are around 250g for a 35 quid custom engraved knob
 
Ah no worries and yes, ours are push on. Pulled mine off other day going from 3rd to 4th and hit myself in the face :lol:

The Storm ones are nearly 500grams I think, I read an old thread the day, proper heavy.

*just over 500 grams* according to their site! Lovely!
