I am in two minds as the weight saving is minimal and as has been pointed out in posts previously you may be better of just having your roof wrapped . If you are after weight saving you would be better of getting the tailgate that they sell but more expensive .
I've sat in a Geoff Steel roofed car - the quality was excellent and i've not heard of any issues of longevity.
Before he'd had a roofliner fitted, the CF is so thin, the roof did glow in bright sunlight - i say this as a positive; it looked cool and shows just how strong the material is.

Quality varied. That was the biggest issue, some were awesome, some were not. Shipping also left a lot to be desired, some turned up broken, some were packed really nicely, some were just chucked in a box.
From the outside, sun shines through the weave, if you don't have a roof liner installed, your best painting the underside black.
Not sure were you got your data, but there is a substantial weight saving in the carbon roof Vs the steel OEM roof.

Mine is a race car.
I had my window fitter do it when he replaced the front screen. It is recommended to replace the windscreen trim at the same time because it joints the roof and windscreen. Theres a photo on page 16 of my build thread https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=112593&start=225
You'll need window removal tools to cut the adhesive around the roof skin. Totally DIY-able but for a pride-and-joy road car I would find a friendly windscreen fitter, as they'll also have the right adhesive/equipment for bonding the carbon panel back in place.
