Hi all,
Just a quick questions, has anyone heard of a genuine carbon fibre roof for the z4 Coupe e86. This trader is saying its genuine?

I saw this advert too, its a lot of money for the car even though the wheels are v expensive. Seems like a massive faff to save a few kilos in weight. If it is feasible as I assumed that the roof and seams that run down the sides to the back and the front are all part of the same panel.

I am sure it's been done. I remember seeing a post about it hear or somewhere else I can't remover where. But it has been done. Up high on the roof is a good place to save weight. But in reality you are never going to notice a difference.

A few members on here have fitted them it's just a skin that comes off maybe 4 or 6 screws but weather you can notice the difference.?????

Thanks for the heads up. So the roof itself is only held in place by six screws? I had a small dent in mine wonder if you could lift the panel a bit and push it out?

Also, what price would you say would be right for it?

You'll save about 5 kg.

that car looks ACE!!!

35k miles, looks fantastic, some really nice mods.....

someone will get a really nice car if its a nice as the pics suggest!

A user on here 'Babas' did a CF roof - I saw it in the metal (?weave?)- it did look ace, but he was saying it was a right pain to fit!

the car in the advert looks lovely

It's held in place with screws and adhesive. It's very easy for a PDR guy take a dent out of the roof as there are no strengthing beams in the way. Shouldn't cost no more that £60 to have it done.

Price wise. Its a nice car but there are a few low mileage z4 coupes on autotrader now around 12-13k. Great colour and the wheels help. Dealer will be adding 20 per cent plus on what he paid for it. halliwell Jones have a similar coupe for same money that they paid 11k for
