Hi! I am based in Yorkshire and looking for my first Z4. Seen quite a few in dealers.....but wondering what the real experts have for sale! Ideally within the area (york). After a 6-cylinder model ideally manual but not totally against auto option. Service history and receipts are a must! Not being modified in any way as close to stock as possible. Ideally with a millage of 60-80,000. Color-wise not black (had a few and a pain to keep clean! Must be clear of accident damage and finance (obviously) and a good MOT history. Other than that be good to see what is around, I hope this gives me more look than the normal dealers (1 owner, garaged all its life, lady driver..........) which it never is!!! thanks in advance. :D

Welcome Jack, there are a lot of knowledgeable people here (i am not one of them). However i am also looking for my first Zed.

My first question for you is which model are you looking for E89? While i have been looking i have not found an E89 anywhere near that price range for what you are asking for (admittedly i am only looking for ones with iDrive as well). My searches have meant a budget in the region of about £10-12k.

Good luck and i will leave the more knowledgeable to assist you further as i may be talking a lot off tosh.

It’s a healthy budget for an E85, will get you almost anything except a low mileage 3.0Si.

Check out this absolute beauty in N.Yorks if still available.

I wouldn't be too bothered by a 6 figure mileage on the 6 cylinder models - they seem to be pretty bullet-proof.

It's only ancillaries that may wear out, things like water pumps, alternators, starters, etc. And at that sort of mileage the OE suspension will probably be getting tired so it's worth looking for cars that have had some of those things done, even if they have done more miles.

I sold an E91 3 series with the same engine as the car in zedebees link that had done 139K and the engine performed brilliantly. I had a look on MOT checker out of curiosity and it's now done 159K! The car in the link also has the very desirable M-Sport seats which were only a standard fit in facelift Sport models.

Anyway good luck finding the right one.

Hi, Jack. I’m in Dewsbury, so about 40 minutes from York centre. I have a Space Grey manual 2.5Si Sport (218bhp) that I’m thinking of selling. Registration is delta november 58 echo x-ray whiskey.

Manufactured 06/08, registered by the dealer 12/08 and bought by me with 111 miles on the clock in 05/09. So, effectively one owner. Slightly under 76k miles now. Hi-spec but no built-in satnav (a positive in my opinion).

Well cared for and absolutely ALL the receipts and other paperwork from day one would come with the car. Truly factory spec including run-flats, standard aerial, hood motor in its original position. Only changes I’ve made have maintained the factory spec - split rim wheels just switched to MV2s, and cruise control fitted with correct BMW parts in 2016. Still under extended BMW warranty, which isn’t transferable but means that nothing’s been skimped.

Photo below was taken this June and shows it at BM Autosport being fitted with high quality refurbished MV2 wheels and new factory-spec centre caps.Z4 ad photo.jpg

I was going to ask for £7,990 on Autotrader with 5% off that for Forum members. However, there’s a couple of minor jobs that need doing (a kerbed alloy, and a slightly warped brake disc) which is why I wasn’t going to sell just yet. I can get the work done pre-sale or make an allowance on the price. PM me if this is of interest and I’ll let you have more info. :)

With your £8k budget you can afford to be choosy, the facelift 3.0 has lots of extras as standard and, electric seats. Try an auto it’s a lovely gearbox with paddle change and sport model. Don’t dismiss a 2.5l at around £5k and pocket the change

Very nice car,and sensibly priced, given the apparent condition etc,one owner pretty much, etc. Space grey looks great on the e85 too.

Thanks for the feedback, Jack. I'm glad you found something you liked. Photos on the Forum soon no doubt....

Thanks also to MikeyH and craig3.2 for your kind comments.
