keep your top covered when you can, i don't have a garage so i keep a car cover on, in the winter the car is stored with the cover, bmw sells a waterguard to impregnate the soft top to keep in waterproof, if you see bird dung on it, get it off asap no matter how, well use water and soap, that stuff is nasty for any car surface. keep it clean and park in shade if you have the choice, and most of all enjoy it and keep it down as much as possible to enjoy the experience. take care of it and it will last a long long time, a new top is about 2500, so it does not pay to neglect your canvas.
