Just installed an Amazon fire HD into the Zed for visual Music Library playback.

(Apologies for Kanye West)

No more cds and guessing track names! I can just throw whatever I want on a 128gb thumb drive.

Ive used a first gen Fire HD which runs off of usb power, (new ones need more amperage) which I've taken from the back of the cigarette lighter.

The hdmi out goes into a cheap converter which gives me an audio feed that goes through the aux input and a video feed that goes through the reverse camera input (Changed to PAL format with Navcoder)

To switch to the Amazon Fire I've routed the reverse camera earth cable to the front and put in a physical switch.

Not had chance to tidy this all up yet but you can see how its all plumbed in.

Light up power switch, ground switch and grommet to feed the aux cable back inside.

i'm using the app 'Firestarter' to boot the Amazon Fire into the app 'VLC for Fire' on startup.

Well happy.

This just makes me love the Fire Tv range even more.

Plus I guess you can watch Netflix if you follow a national express bus closely enough to get their WiFi hotspot!
