I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can help with a frustrating problem.
When I switch on the Air Con on my 2004 Z4 2.5 Roadster the compressor won't kick in. Normally you hear the revs drop as the engine takes up the extra load. You can hear something happening just behind the dashboard but nothing more.
I have had the fluid levels checked and had a mechanic bypass all the switching to test the compressor which engages and cools the car beautifully.
Clearly something is at fault between the switch on the dash and the compressor. I'checked the fuses in the glove-box and these are fine.
How many components are there between the switch and the compressor? Is there an obvious one to aim for first?
