Guys.

I trade in mainly sports cars but specialist in E46 M3's. Today I took in a car that I also sell but this is different. It's a merlot red roadster with the SMG box. Apparently it was owned by a celebrity ( yet to find out who it is ). It came with hard top and bmw stand and has only 52k miles. Question is how many of these cars with SMG gearbox ?

Not many, I've seen (on the forum) maybe only half a dozen? One of them a 2.5 and the rest 3.0

:o Your not going to ask how many of these were made in this colour and drive train configuration are you? - we've not recovered from the last thread like this yet!

Thanks guys. Personally the SMG is the best box I have driven on this car. It's so easy and a great drive. Like the E46 M3 u have to get used to it. But owning both I would have smg every day of the week.

You do have to get used to the smg initially which is probably why not so many were sold. Once you are accustomed to it - it is ideal for a sports car. On spirited drives they are hard to beat for the fun factor and I still think it's a very clever system.

And it did sound very good behind me on the National :)

Do you think mine is a rare colour ?

It's silver 😂😂😂😂
