Those pics are very poor, it's so dark you can't see the condition of the wheels (which are prone to corrosion issues) no heated seats either & are they even sports seats?
It will also be needing a water pump replacement soonish unless it's recently been done.
Maybe not such a bargain after all?
Regards

woah there... whats all this about water pumps?? not heard mention of this before... is this another potential expense i might have to worry about.... have to say as much as i love this car It does make me wonder where this reputation for amazing bmw build quality comes from. Ive already spent more in 5 months sorting stuff out than I have in 6 years and 80000 miles of honda ownership (and i still have a few more bits to do to get the zed 100%)

There have been a couple of water pump failures. Not sure if there is any age/mileage pattern as yet though.

I had to have my thermostat change on my N52 2.5si at 4 years and around 30K, which is not common, only time will tell on the water pumps though.

I think looking for an immaculate 3.0si with low mileage at £6-8k is a bit of an ask too. Perhaps you should consider a nice pre-facelift 2004/5 3.0 SE for just as many smiles.

I've just sold this fairly base level 2006, 2.5 SE just off the 100k mark. I advertised it at £6k and it went quickly.
(it had new discs, tyres, roof motor relocated, etc. Everything was prepared for Summer.)
Add the coveted 3.0 engine, Si Spec, and wish to knock off another 30,000 miles plus get an 08 plate...And in Spring, you'll need to add to that budget. I admire you're optimism but if you're not careful Summer will pass you by whilst you're still looking.

Hi mr.tourette, I don't want to worry you but the water pumps on the n52 engines seem to fail anywhere from 50k up to about 100k-there's been more than a few go so it's certainly not isolated cases.
They're electric pumps & don't seem to leak, they just stop working properly! There's not much of a warning but I knew I had trouble coming when my rad fan started revving up/down from cold start up.
It's not a hard job (half hour or so) it's just expensive, I found a oe pump for £280 but bmw dealers seem to charge an arm & a leg
