Z4 3.0 or 350Z

if you search online, you should be able to find the answer. at least i know there are websites posting various 1/4 mile times

since the Nissan Z was originally built (decades ago) to compete with the american muscle cars, i would imagine that the newest version, 300 hp 3.5L V6 would be faster than any of the non-M Z4s, BUT i have driven both and if you like the feel of a tossable roadster vs. a muscle car (as i do), the Z4 is leaps and bounds more fun to drive even w/ less hp!!!

Pretty much my opinion as well having drive a 350Z a few years ago...

I am intrigued as to why you ask the question... are you looking to purchase one or the other, then in which case is the choice purely down to these figures? There is so much more to the zed than just performance, it's all about the whole package.

If you just want a fast 0-60 get a cheap car and NOS it :D

If you just wanted to find out then I'm sure you will get the definitive answer here (I myself don't know), but it would be a shame to choose either of these cars purely based on 0 - 60 times.

true dat, if i were just going on 0-60 times, i would go with a turbo miata, save $$, still a roadster, better handling than either car ... YES, better handling than even a Z4 and if tuned properly, will absolutely destroy either car (stock of course) in 0-60 or 1/4 mile or any autoX times!!!

yes, i've driven a tuned turbo miata with my 3.0 Z4 back to back and the turbo miata was significantly better in pretty much every performance category, both cars have about the same wheel hp (around 200), but the Z4 wins in almost every non-performance category such as sound system, comfort, class, wind noise, overall looks

another option would be to get the ultra crazy supercharged Lotus Elise!!! :driving: i think it's about 280 hp and under 2000 lbs!!!

Miatas are a lot of fun, but just too danged small for my taste. I felt like I needed a shoehorn to get in and even with the seat all the way down, I didn't like the windshield. I like the 350Z, I drove one belonging to a guy at work, but I still wouldn't give up my 2.5 for the 350Z. It's the car I wanted. Performance, especially straight line, doesn't mean that much to me.

As an aside, some woman last week was showing her friends how fast her Mitsubishi Galant is and managed to lose control and crash into my wife which is now causing me no end of stress. If you want to go fast, do it where there's no one around or better yet, go to a track. Let's make people like Fire N Ice complain about how boring their job is after we all learn to behave and drive responsibly.

Interesting thread aside from the original poster making a 1 line entry and never coming back.

Z4 everytime for me. Went in a buddies 350z. Nice but just a hot hatchback really.

Had a 60 mile drive to do at near midnight. Warm, clear evening roof down, empty A roads. Just the engine note for company. Pure majic, without even doing silly speeds :) :)

BTW - for those who just want sheer performance in a road legal package this takes my money every time. 0-100-0 in 10.88 seconds. Real trick is it will outrack everything on the planet bar 1 piece of $900k car the F60 Enzo...

Not sure I could live with it, but fun for a few hours:

My Z4 3.0si Coupe is faster than the 350Z. Never tried with the 2007 models though :driving:

Thanks. Thats the answer I'm looking for.
Any body else have been race with 350Z on their Z4 ?

Neither the Z4 3.0 nor the 350Z is a quick car. If you want a quick 2-seater with good handling performance, buy a C6 and call it a day.

350Z is a fat pig of a car with no interior feel of quality.
That's your opinoin

There is definitely no interior feel of quality. The car might look like a fat pig, but it is fairly nimble. So I'm with him for 1.5 out of 2. :fuelfire:
