Z4 2.5Si Idle Pulley Missing

Got a weird one, but I suspect this is very common.

I started to replace the belt, pulley and tensioner this morning, and noticed the belt in my kit was longer than the one coming off the car.

Then I noticed I didn’t have an idle pulley installed. I’ve installed the idle pulley and the new belt is still too long.

Bit confused if I should have an idler pulley or not, and if Autodoc sent me the incorrect kit (INA FEAD).

Old Belt - 6PK1827
New belt -6PK1990

I suspect I am the problem here

I think I have a resolution now.

I will order the original belt size (6PK1827 or 6PK1830 Gates) and run it without the idle pulley and return the unwanted guff back to Autodoc.
