Hi members,

I have been looking to change/upgrade my black 2005 Z4 BMW for a newer model.

The white 2012 model I am looking at has Red Leather upholstery but I cannot

make up my mind whether or not to buy it because of the red seats.

The car also has non BMW parking sensors. Could this be an issue with BMW ?

I would appreciate any advice the forum members have re above.

Thank you & a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone on the forum.

Hi, what derivative is it? The 2litre turbo cars come in 3 different outputs despite having identical engines/turbos.
I shouldn't think non oe parking sensors would be an issue unless they caused issues with other electrics, it seems highly unlikely.

Early N20 engines suffered from loud tappets sounds - more noticeable when the engine is cold. (Direct injectors)

I think they were replaced on 2013 models.

Car won't be under a BMW warranty (unless its an AUC car, which you don't mention) so why would after-market sensors be an issue???
Its none of BMW's business.

Red and white is a nice combo, once I'd love to own but probably never will!!

The n20 engine also runs quieter because it features offset bore line cylinders, this reduces piston noise as the thrust face is more evenly distributed around the piston. It helps the rings to seal better as well
