Our village is finally getting fibre optic - a whopping 15mb - might not seem much to you city slickers but to us it's 15 times faster than our previous paltry maximum of 1mb We're with TalkTalk ( despite bad press it's always been reliable albeit painfully slow ) Going for a free Youview box with catch up / recording on hard drive etc - total monthly charge ( including anytime calls inc a number of international is £35 for 6 months rising to £41 - seems a good deal compared to the robbin' b-----ds at Sky - anyone got Youview ?

We went from 2mb ADSL to about 36mb fibre, and were miles from the cabinet. Live close to the cab and could get 50-60!!!

Only 15mb...that seems low for fttc...is that the estimate you've been given?

We needed more than 2 to stream properly, so thats the best thing for us. Even 15 should be fine for streaming.

No experience of you view I'm afraid. Used to be with TalkTalk....in the early days they were abysmal and trying to get tech support was a joke (and pricey) but near the end they were ok. However, when we went to fibre we jumped to BT. We were with BT on fibre for several months before TalkTalk even said it was available to us!

was getting 1.7mbps
Fibre from January .....74.7 mbps now the servers I am accessing can't keep up

We have got Youview..had it for about a year..we get just over 7mb. Which is absolutely fine for streaming...

We have numerous appliances accessing our router at once but that doesn't,t slow down or affect the Youview streaming at all..

You view for us is perfect..especially the pause feature..great for when you want a cuppa or something in the middle of a program...and a doddle to record programmes..
