Your Soft Top Drain Holes

A couple of forum members have asked about the drain holes for the soft top.

Viewed from the top, Soft Top down (stowed), rubber trim removed:
You CAN see the drain hole on the right side of the car.
You CANNOT see the drain hole on the left side of the car.

I have compelted the proecdure over the weekend. It only took around 20 minutes per side and was a lot simpler than I thought. It is done in 6 simple steps

1) Put the side you're working on up on the jack
2) Remove the wheel
3) Remove the plastic inner wheel arch thingy - 4 screws
4) The drain becomes accessible - take of the rubber filter thingy and clean it. Use a hoover to suck all the crap out of the drain pipe
5) Test it - retract the roof and gently poor water on the side. Observe the drain pipe making sure it is draining.
6) Replace everything as it was.

Simples.

This morning I followed K3ab's guide and completed the job in about 45 mins.

Before starting this I would advise, on a dry surface, pouring water down the gap between the roof/bodywork, just above the petrol flap on the RH side and then the equivilent on the LH side, making sure not to spill water on the outside. If water finds it's way to the dry surface then the drain holes are clear (well at least draining).

One of mine was blocked so I followed K3's guide and cleared all the shy't.

Tools required, wheel removal equipment, 10 & 8mm sockets preferably on a t-bar

Looks like I need to be doing this asap judging by the water build up under the rear of the hood. If the drain holes are blocked at the top (isn't that the more likely possibility?) will I have to remove the hood?

seems to be the same here: at least some of the water drains, but there is some left under the rear of the hood. It seems to be in a place where it would get stuck anyway though (slightly depressed)
