Your best driving roads in the UK

I don't know if this has been posted before,but could we have a "our favourite hooning roads of the UK" thread.I know we all live in different parts of the country, but if you have to do a journey to somewhere you are not familiar with,wouldn't it be better to enjoy your journey more by someones recommendations/scenic routes.I know a lot of you travel a lot of miles to your work place,but wouldn't you feel a lot more chilled out when you got home doing the scenic route instead of the boring motorway ?
What the hell,it may have taken longer but get a "take a way" for tea :lol:
I've only done the Peak District so far in my Zed,but i've done many a mile on my motorbike in Wales and Devon/Cornwall,Ireland and more.

Maybe if some computer wizard could make a map up.for members to add recommendations ?
 
Cairn o'Mount road. Will be driving it this weekend. It a fantastic 30 mile (ish) road up through the hills in Scotland to Banchory.

The A702? RichardG took us along last year. A "must drive" for all enthusiasts.

Countless roads around Glen Clova and Glen Prosen.

There are loads of good roads on Scotland's west coast too :)

I drove from the m1 in sheffield to manchester on monday (i usually go through buxton but the road was closed)

Think its called snakes pass A57. That was a pretty epic drive.

Then there's the evo triangle in wales which i did on the wales meet a couple of years back... Which was awesome.

I did the Snake Pass road yesterday, awesome corners!
 
Only 7 or 8 miles, but the road from Cirencester to Tetbury is a nice mix of sweeping bends with a long straight where you can overtake safely any dawdlers. Also a nice little railway bridge for a brief burst of exhaust note.

Also the Fosseway from Cirencester up to the A40. Or take a minor detour and head up via Bibury. Great roads and beautiful Cotswolds scenery.

I'd rather be sending from an iPhone on Tapatalk than this piece of crap Android device...
 
My favourite in Leicestershire is the B6047 between melton mowbray and meerkat-harboro. I must have driven this road at least once a month for the last few years.
 
The A7 from Carlise to Edinburgh is a great Drive and most of the roads North of Edinburgh, until you hit John-O-Groats, knock the spots of anything in England, that I have driven on. :)

Closer to home, the B3212 across Dartmoor is a cracker, but has a 40 limit, due to wild life, so you takes your choice wether to enjoy it as much as you could, or not. :thumbsup:

Finaly the B3254, is the best I know of in Cornwall, only 12 miles of it, but the only thing I can compare it to in slightly longer and in Germany. :D

I know the one ! It IS a nice drive.
P.s. your car looks just like the one I encountered coming off the M1 junction 20 on Tuesday morning - was that you ? I was incognito.
 
Not guilty for the Junction 20 spot, you'll normally only find me on the northern side of Leicestershire because I try to stay away from the scummy south :wink:

No no, I did mean south leics but only in jest. I guess I'm not old enough to know who this humpadink guy is so you can keep him down there in the south of the shire.

A537 Buxton to Macclesfield the Cat and Fiddle run :thumbsup:

A5012 Via Gellia runs between A515 (Buxton Ashbourne ) and A6 (Matlock Bath ) watch out speed camara vans :thumbsup:

One of my favourites is now Evo's the glenshee road coupled with the Lecht - take some time to go through the black and white photos of the Zagato on this road- stunning
