Yorkshire Dales Run Anyone 30th Oct 2011

Great days driving  Some fantastic and mostly empty roads.

Big thanks to Mitchy for organising the run.

And if ayone ever wants to know if a 2.5 Z4 is fast enough for their needs try keeping up with Mitchy's car on a twisty 'B' road :driving:

I am sure u kept up with him ok,John.
As i was telling some of the folk on todays "Scottish" run,u set a quick pace, which is highly enjoyable, but i even strugle to keep up with u at times, lol

A fantastic days driving, good to meet up with familar faces and some new ones ie Herminator, Mitchy and Sammyz mate Paul(loved the M3)

If Mitchy gets his way there will be a Z4 meet just about every weekend :driving:

Only managed to take one pic and here it is.

Ah, I wondered what you were doing at that point. Obviously getting my car in prime focus and from it's best angle

I have a couple of pics of the three early birds, I'll get up a little later.
Some assume roads today and relatively clear runs.

Time to watch the recording on the f1.

363 miles job done
What a fantastic days driving, matched any of my Alps trips, apart from the damp and cold, but for continuous twisties absolutely "BRILL" It was my first run with the Z4 group and is certainly not going to be the last. Must say how I injoyed the company as much as the driving, top blokes! learnt so much from them today thankyou. I think we should all do it again next week :driving:

I think next time it might be an idea to include the road between Richmond and Leyburn. Lots of twisties, my drive back after we split up was good fun through there :driving:

I'll have to start saving for the fuel for next time  I didn't think I'd use more than one tank after brimming it in Darlington but it was definetly needed to get home.

Thanks for organising it

Craig. I think the pace set at this meet was a couple of notches ( and a couple of miles!) higher than my usual meets. Mitchy was setting a challenging pace, I think he thought he was on his motorbike

We had some very empty roads with good visibility for long stretches and only 6 cars. The run up to the Hartside Cafe was particularly 'spirited' :D

Everyone seemed capable and happy to keep up so there was some great driving all day. Bigger numbers of cars are more problematic.

Mitchy's excuse was you were pushing him on :P
He didn't realise until later that you had more than 100hp more to help you catch up

Nice pics lads looks like you had a great day, thanks for sharing with us all, will have to get on the next one :driving:

Must agree with Sammyz, that bigger numbers do become problematic which in turn sets the pace. But for 6 lads to meet and drive over 200 miles almost altogether was a reflection of the calm and relaxed atmosphere amongst us, a total pleasure. Yes at times I was "pushed" on a bit, but on reflection most of the day we were driving at or below the speed limit! Will be sending out Blue Peter badgers this week

Yes,bigger numbers does mean a harder job, keeping tabs on everyone, lol
Mitchy,u should get to the Lakes/Dales meet next year..tho the pace might be a (bit) slower, its still a quick one, mainly.

Looks like a good day..... as said,3 z4-forum meets on the same day. good going :D

I'm more than happy to go with the flow Craig. But on this occasion the flow became a "TORRENT" and I wont be missing many meets next year if Sundays outing anything to go by :)
