Yet another Bluetooth Prep question...

Gents,

Have had a search through the internet and through this forum and cannot seem to find any answer hence the posting. I've had the car a week and it's been great, have only had the chance to drive it at the weekends however.

I just wanted to know, although I assume it's correct, when someone calls you whilst you are in the car, no name or number is displayed, only if I remember correctly "phone" or "call". Bit of a shame if this is the case as it would have been better to have them so that I can choose to answer (or ignore!) the call!

On the nav equipped car when someone calls the display will auto change to show their number... or if they are in your phonebook their name. If the number is withdeld it says "unknown"

However i presume you dont have the nav screen?

My car does the same as this, i was wondering if it was the connection to the iphone not being great, what phone are you using?

I have a 56 plate coupe with no nav and mine (using iPhone 4) shows the name via the business head-unit, some are two long and I only get the end of the names but enough to work it out lol

iPhone 4 and Nav head unit, incoming calls names are displayed no problem. Does your phonebook show up on the screen when you try to bring it up?

My phone will not load my numbers into my BMW system but when I get a call it shows the incoming number.

Odd, i have the nav display, and all my numbers display in the phonebook but when someone calls it just says incoming call and gives option to answer or hang up, no number or name of person, wonder if there is a software update or something like that which could make the difference.

Yeah, sorry should have mentioned the set up, no nav unfortunately, just the standard Business CD HU and with an iPhone 4 also.

Wonder if you have to store the numbers in a different way on the phone, it does display the names and number when searching through the phone book, thats why I thought it was a little odd.

I've got the normal business head unit, and iphone 3g. 06 Roadster.

Mine shows phone for a few seconds when it rings, and then changes to the name/number, depending whether its in the phonebook. As others say, it will only show the end of long names.
