Xmas has definately come early

My plan was to trade in my E89 early next year. With that in mind for the last 6 months I've been keeping an eye on the markets.

What became apparent very quickly was how few ticked the boxes without a compromise on colour, mileage or spec. etc.
Add to that the 2 or 3 that did come up were a few hours drive away. I was ready for a long wait finding the right one.

Last week a 2020 plate G29 appeared at the local BMW dealer - 20 mins away, and it ticked ALL the boxes :D

So, here it is and I pick it up next week :happyclap: It's in immaculate condition.

Also a shout out to Lloyds BMW, the customer service from the ladies on reception, to the sales and handover teams to date has been excellent.

Gonna be a long week, ticking the sleeps off.

Top job.

There great at Lloyds South Lakes. I bought my car from there... :D :D :driving:

Great area to do the test drive too, round the bottom of the Lakes.... :driving: :driving:

Good looking choice. I pass two BMW dealerships to get to LLoyds at Newcastle which is my dealership of choice. Great customer service and often cup cakes to go with the coffee :D Enjoy

Looks great (I have the same colour), what packs did you manage pick up?

I have used Lloyds in Newcastle and found them very helpful, they have also recently expanded and taken over the Wallsend/ North Tyneside dealership from Stratstone.

Thanks for the comments guys

Re option packs, tbh I'm not sure on the names of them. I was really only looking at the things I must have and those I'd like to have.
So it has heated seats/steering wheel, wind deflector comfort access, M sport trim/wheels/brakes/seats, Parking sensors, Cruise control, rear view camera.
Don't think it had enhanced stereo, forgot to look

With that in mind and a quick Google, I believe:
M Sport package
Comfort pack
Driving assistant
Ambient lighting

Very smart indeed. Bet you just can’t wait. I have had a lot of cars over the years. But I still get excited when there is a new one on the horizon.

Congratulations
Can’t wait to hear your feedback from it . Hope you enjoy the new model…. Be a while before I get there, but looking forward to that day also. I’m already thinking the same about all the boxes ticked , could be a long wait once I’m ready. Glad you found the dream combo for you 👍

[/quote]Great to know, never liked Stratstone

PS What model did you go for?

Its the 2.0l model
2020 Plate with just 21,000 miles on the clock

Early feed back from the test drive was how smooth it was, and how quick it was to pick up when you put your foot down, Sports mode was 'wow'. It felt like it possibly dropped 2 gears initially.

Very comfortable to drive, I was a bit concerned about it being an auto (being a gent of a certain age ) but I bet going forward I don't use the manual mode much if at all.

Jumping straight from my E89 into it, first impression was the field of view was smaller, not sure if the rake on the windscreen is different, or I could be wrong.

There appears to be more settings/tech than you can shake a stick at, so am anticipating sitting in it on the drive for an hour or two configuring it!

4 more sleeps

I find the field of vision to the rear is a little restricted due to the roof configuration compared to the e89 but a small price to pay. I also remove the wind deflector during the winter months which does help a little.

Yep, the neighbours must of thought I was up to something the amount of time I was sitting in the car on the drive. If you download 'My BMW' onto your phone, you can do some things remotely (send destinations to satnav, check car locked, tyre pressures etc.). Really impressed by the extras on mine, big move forward from my E89. I'm sure you will love it
