Xenon or halogen?

Pre facelifts Xenons don't have a halo...

Have you got height adjustment scroll next to the headlight dial inside the car? If you can adjust the height, you don't have xenon

See you learn something new every day, thanks Adamski

Do the pre face lift Xenon's have to have the headlight washers too?

My old pre facelift had non halo xenons and headlight washers. Pretty sure it's a legal requirement to have washers if you have xenons.

Sounds like Halogen if there's a height adjustment dial

Xenons need to have auto height leveling - via sensors on control arms on the suspension. Xenons need to have headlamp washers too

I'll check for the yellow stickers - really can't tell from comparing pics of the headlights either.

I know when I turn the ignition on the headlights rise up from the ground - don't know if both sets do that either?!

They don't make it simple do they...

All Z4 headlights do the fall/rise thing on startup.

It is simple really.

Xenons must have Headlamp wash in UK to be legal.
Xenons only have one thumb wheel on headlight switch to adjust instrument brightness
Xenons should have yellow sticker above each headlight under the bonnet warning of high voltage.
Xenons allow you to see in the dark where Halogens don't

now what does the Bi Xenon add to the party ? 8) sounds like a daft question but it can,t mean 2 headlights per side ?

Nope - means the inside lenses have no bulb - dipped beam has a 'lid' that covers half the light I believe and gives the sharp straight top to the beams, then full beam takes the lid away and lo - daylight :D

I don't have them :(
