Am thinking to replace the fog lights bulb to 4300k HID kit. Are HID kits from ebay ok to buy? I found lot of them on ebay only $100 with no computer warning on dashboard and 2 years quarantee. Anybody else replaced them ?

The color temperature of the OEM halogen fog light bulbs penetrates fog better. Decide if you want to look better or see better.

Whats the purpose of the HID conversion to the fog lights, is it to improve the visual looks of the car at night solely?

Wont they piss other road users off? Fogs light are bright enough and not designed to emit HID light output, bet the glare is a sod, can only imagine how bright they must be.

Ok...dumb question here:
On my car, I cannot turn on the fog lights without the HID lowbeams being on. At that point, how do the fog lights help me?

My 2007 US spec car only needs the parking lights on for the fog lights to come on.

They might not be that bad since they are so low to the ground and and meant to shine low to the ground, though I could be wrong. Maybe the OP could post a picture of them on and against a wall and compare them to the headlights?

I will post pics next week...
can you post pics with fogs on (no headlights) against a wall and then again with the headlights on. I just wan to see how high they cast compared to the headlights. TIA...

My headlights are 5000k (low beam), 4300k (high beam),4300k (fog lights). I will post pics until next weekend.

first of all |can't believe they make this car with xenon as an option. I put xenon on my car no problem, however it would not work through the low beams, | had to connect the transformer on the fog lights and vice versa, kind of cool actually because when I turn on my regular headlights I get the fog lights on and the parking lights on at the same time, like audi do it. Then if i want the xenon I have to turn on my fog light button. works out well, otherwise the xenon on low beam hook up was screwy and did not work well at all, flickering etc......thankfully worked by going through fog lights, quality wise is excellent on ebay depending who you buy from, don't remember the name i bought from, however you have to drill a hole in the light covering and put the ballast somewhere and seal the hole properly and also had to splice the clip that holds the bulb in place to get the wire through,(put a dab of silicone here to keep it in place) but take your time and good to go.
