WTF?

So having a spirited hoon on the way home, I find an S class diesel on my chuff. I'm not pressing on too hard and he gets so close I'm uncomfortable, to the extent I think this Merc has designs on my little Alpina's virtue. What can you do? I know, open the taps a bit. Now I'm giving it the beans on country roads in the little Z's element, exhaust giving it some bass accompaniment and still this arse won't give up. I'm holding to my side of the road, he's taking racing lines on blind corners in the wrong lane! Anyway I back off, it's getting dangerous and he's back up my chuff. Get into town and I see the guy is retirement age and simply pissed that I have the roof off and he can't pass.

Anyone else had any "experiences" whilst roof down hooning?

Tapatalking...

Only when I was stick behind a tractor and a Nissan micra and was patiently waiting to see if the micra was going to go, he didn't, so I signalled, checked my mirrors, pulled out, accelerated only to find when I got level the micra decided he would overtake after all without checking for anyone else in the world. Luckily the guy behind me didn't follow and I was able to check my run very hard and the micra pulled back in too and I was on my way.

An angry old man! He'll give himself a heart attack soon. Well done for not joining him and easing off when it became dangerous! Life's too short anyway!

I find that doing the opposite of hitting the go pedal and reducing them down to 20mph normally has the desired affect, or as others have suggested before, a long blast on the windscreen washer works as well.

I don't mind folk showing good form in a joint hoon. But the type of guy behind you - I don't like :x

+1

+2, it's not a hoon then, just dangerous driving being so close

I do love this place. You can come in and "dump" your annoyances and frustrations and everyone rallies around (and calls you an arse when you deserve it)

Had a similar thing when I was out hunting for petrol last night. 10:30pm ish.

Fiesta zetec and an evo having some fun. They try encouraging me into a spirited drive. I gave it the beans where safe, but they were driving like fools. Fiesta didn't stand a chance, and was taking stupid risks to keep up. Which didn't last. We both decided to calm down before it got out of hand.

That's just it when there's two high performance cars, you end up pushing and pushing. If you actually stopped and imagine would you'd say if you witnessed yourself as a third party you'd probably be effing and blinding.

You done well to calm down, and save racing for the track. It's easy to get caught in the moment, which can abruptly be brought to an end. Best if it's you're making the decision to stop instead of having no choice in the matter.

I pretty much drive my own pace. There aren't many that can keep up in the twisties, but if they can and they're that close, I let them to overtake. Police bait I figure.

+1 - I am slowly developing a Zen-like calm that enhances my Z-fun. And when I get caught up in the moment I am much quicker to rein myself in nowadays.
