I know this is probably an impossible ask, but by any chance does anybody have one of these they would be willing to sell. I am trying to add an Z4M rear bumper to my 2004 E85 and have been told that I will need one of these

I have the //M rear without 1 so it isn't a must, have you got a photo of the part (I wasn't even aware there was 1)

Sorry I haven't, just that somebody on here told me I would need one, I think there is a difference of about an inch in them, with the Zm being the bigger of the two. I have seen it mentioned in a couple of posts. Have you carried out the upgrade yourself?

Are you sure you're not getting confused with the front undertray OP? This you do need but as far as I know they don't have trays at the back. I could be wrong however.

the ///M does have an under tray at the back with 2 large vents that appear to run through the Diff to aid collling, it then spits the air out of the middle section of the rear bumper, its totally functional stuff, was impressed when i saw it tbh.

You can always guarantee on the forum that whenever you raise a question, you will have different answers but always a good conversation point. They say that the proof is in the pudding and the picture of a finished conversion would certainly suggest that you don't need one, but as always on here happy to be proved incorrect

I think you mean part number 17 in the below, 'cover, activated charcoal filter'. I replaced mine recently when the exhaust was being changed and it bolts on to the rear bumper. I wouldn't call it an undertray but it's the only part that attaches to the rear bumper that I can think of. If the charcoal filter isn't there on non M cars then I can't see why it would be needed.

its interesting really are you can clearly see the raised sections that the diff fins exit air into, if you look under a z4m its pretty clear whats been done with this part, would it make a difference without it?? probably not.... but it certainly is ducting air, its not their for show.

well this is interesting... never knew this part existed?

now I want 1 haha I saw somebody use a universal rear diffuser in a similar way which looked pretty cool with the fins, would also help support the middle section of the bumper as its pretty flexible so cant imagine what wind does when it catches it when your driving 100+

any idea where to get it from or if there's any after market options?

and thanks Olsonn for bringing this to my attention :fuelfire:
