WTB Z4M Aftermarket Exhaust Back Boxes

I am after some aftermarket exhaust back boxes for the Z4M.
I have recently done the z4m exhaust conversion on my 3,0si with the twin backbones from the z4m and the original z4m heat shields and mounting brackets etc

Backstory FYI:

After having it done once by John at A44 exhausts in worcester who's work was SHAMEFUL and who's attitude was disgusting, I made them undo their monstrosity and put it back to how it was. They intentionally and malitionsly dented my back boxes with a spanner on each exhaust tip before smugly giving them back to me (thats a whole other story) i will be getting into their work shortly with some pics of their professionalism which included hammering the tube bending creasing and folding the tube with pigeon s**t welding not to mention not even doing what i asked and leaving the centre section of exhaust in while demanding big money and telling me the tube doesn't have to be round, it is perfectly acceptable to fold tube sharply so it creases and make it triangular as long as the volume stays the same.... and more BS like this. The backbones weren't even hung level on the factory hangers and they told me it wasn't possible to get them level even though i showed them pics of ones that were.... they then said shell they must be different backbones... which clearly they were not. The list goes on and i will document the whole sage in the hope to save other people the misery i went through with these cowboys.

Anyway, the job was put right by the incredible guys at Kustom101 in Tewkesbury. Please if you are thinking of having custom exhaust work done, just save yourself the misery and use these guys. They pride themselves of really top top notch work. Their main business is custom paint finishes which as we all know take a lot of skill and care to achieve but they also do exhausts. I have photographs of the work they did on my exhaust which was faultless.

Anyway, all said and done, I am not happy with how the z4m back boxes sound... It isn't really noticeably different from stock after a whole lot of work so i'd like to track down some aftermarket back boxes. I am interested in anything.... Supersprint, Eisenmann, BMS, Schnitzer, Remus.... anything I can just bolt on there myself. Supersprint would be my preference because i have them on my s2000 and love the sound.

did you buy these from me??? owww noo sad to hear these parts got damaged, they were in great condition when i sent them out, it may not be you however i cant remember now...do they sound crap on the 3.0?? your the first person ive heard not happy with the z4m boxes :-( sorry to hear your experience.

:-(

The Z4M boxes sound great I think. Cant beat that rasp and many of the others have too much reverb and are too loud for everyday usage. Although I'm sure plenty will disagree.

Hi Bryon,

Yes, it was you i got them from. Took me a while to get them fitted because i've been pretty busy. They are still almost mint, the assho**s just put a little dent in each tip. Fortunately when they are fitted properly... (not how they installed them), you can't see any of that because they dented them too far back to be an issue.

I think because the 3.0si has the cats built into the manifolds, maybe the system is much quieter then it is on a z4m. I basically have stock manifolds and cats, with no center section exhaust, just straight pipes running all the way from the manifolds back to the rear boxes.

The system just sounds indistinguishable from how it was before i did the mod.... actually i think it may have been a bit gruntier sounding before the mod. I think some more aggressive non baffled straight through back boxes will fix it for me though if i can track some down.

Remus is fantastic! Not offensively loud, just fills in a bit of bass at idle and adds some great harmonics. The ///M rasp is still there further up the rev range. No drone at motorway speeds either

Exactly what I said.... Close to stock. :P

Thanks Guys,
I'm sure these back boxes are louder on the z4m and probably have a nicer tone, but sadly they sound quite dull on the 3.0si... I am going to probably save up for some supersprint boxes unless something comes up in the meantime.

The other possibility is the cheap Schnitzer back boxes on ebay for £650 and modifying the tailpipes to make them fit the stock bumper so i don't need to buy the schnitzer rear diffuser.

Great value! Any may be worth a look but a bit more of a project.

its the cats in your headers killing the sound, the z4m has 2 high-flow cats (300 cell) thats it... so your 4 cats are really killing the sound.... id look to swap out the headers.... this way you net the noise you want AND gain good few Hp from dropping those catted units
