Written off my Z4 - Repairable?

Glad you're okay. Time to start Zed shopping again. When you get one, try not to write on the windscreen as it'll improve visibility of those pesky walls. :tumbleweed:

Happy hunting.

Shame but as has been said main thing is you're ok.

Take the money and run... in all seriousness I can't see the point in putting a lot of money into a car which won't have much appeal to buyers when it comes to selling.

Take the opportunity to try something new

Sorry to hear about the car. If it's a breaker would they let you take the seats (I think those are red sport seats)? If so I would do my level best to take the seats.4

Presumably, the insurance do not want to pay the 15000 pounds repair bill, and prefer to write it off, bcos that will cost them less (and they get to keep the damaged car and sell it to a salvo yard). The money on the table for a new replacement one is presumably less than 15.

On the plus side, finding a replacement for a roadster is a lot easier than trying to replace a coupe.

Thank your gods that you're in a healthy position to look for another and that the nice insurers are paying the bill.
At the end the day it's just a piece of machinery to move your butt from place to place, so go lick your wounds, start looking for a replacement and see if the insurers will let you buy the wreck for peanuts to break and flea bay...

Isn't it surprising how attached you can get to a car - especially if it has an emotional link to an incident or some important reason for buying it. Perhaps it could be the amount of work put into the car or simply the good times it has brought. Daft as it seems I regret not even acknowledging my MX5 when I traded it in against my Z4. Even though it needed a new hood and had seen better days it never ever let me down, I had some terrific drives in it and every day the trip to and from work brought a smile - fantastic service over many years and I was so keen to get the Z I never thought to even watch it get driven round the back of the dealers and who knows where next. Stupid response perhaps for a piece of machinery but isn't that kind of response why we own a Z4?

Even so - remember the good times and move on - in my experience the car will never be the same again unless you are prepared to spend far too much money and time getting it right.

Sorry to hear of the accident, Yeah looks fooked as others have said , you should just take the cheque being left with a Cat C will be serious hassell I reckon and a lot time for little return unless of course you work in a bodyshop and can fix it for buttons ..... should just buy mine instead with the cheque form the insurance company heheheheh :D :D

Yup, they'll look at the book price, knock a bit off for the hell of it, but it will still be better to get another than repair a wreck.
The only exception to that rule is Rowan's Mclaren....

£15,000 will buy you another nice zed so why bother
Have to agree.

He did not get that offered ...

Sad to hear and see. I will have to agree with the rest. Fixing it is expensive and I can't think of any one giving u a guarantee that it will be as good as before the accident.

I guess even for you mentally... distancing urself from the car will make u think less about it and the experience u had.
