Wrapping matte white

I've gone off the idea of Matte Black, but am loving the idea of Matte White. I want to matte white my Z4, I have black M3 rims (I think). Black + white theme should look good imo, and get my windows tinted. I love my zed to bits, I really do. But I'm just not a fan of the colour (silver), and that's the only thing in the way of it being my dream car!

I've found a quote for ~£1,200 from a shop a friend of a friend used and highly recommended (http://www.totally-dynamic.co.uk/). I found one nearer who quoted £950 (http://www.prestigewrap.co.uk/prestigecustoms/). Anyone have experience with either of these places?

What are peoples thoughts? I understand the lifespan of them is 3-5 years and I'm fine with that.

Here's what it could look like:

someone near me (Sheffield) has a matte white Z and it looks AWESOME! DO IT! Where are you based? One of my best mates does professional signage & vehicle wraps so happy to put you in touch if you like.

With that and Projoy's custom Alpine down the road my 3.0i looks like the poor cousin. ha

That will look very special 8)

A mate has a matte black car and it just looks like its covered in electrical tape. Wraps I've seen that are a colour, especially the satin finish look much nicer.

Go for it

Frozen blue wrap with black wheels would be terrific

x1000 absolutely agree with this. Would look Faaaaantastic!

I am very tempted to wrap my coupe now...any recommendations for a firm in the south west?

^^^ Would be interested to see what TMC London quote, especially with a 10 year warranty.

I know many sites advocate wrapping as a way of protecting paintwork, but presumably if your paintwork wasn't in great condition (some bubbling, minor defects etc.) wrapping would make the issue worse? So you could leave yourself with a relatively heavy bill when the wrap is removed if it takes some of the paintwork with it?

Would it be wise to get the quality of your paintwork tested before wrapping. A 7-10 year old car could have some developing paint issues?

Took my car down to Totally Dynamic this morning to get them to check the body and have a look at some colours.

Body is good for it, and shouldn't be any problems.

He showed me 2 colour samples:

- Matte White
- Satin White

He highly recommended satin white over matte, as to keep the matte looking clean requires washing up to 2x per week! Fingers touching it leave visible finger prints. He said the satin is a lot easier to clean and keep looking clean. Saw some photos of satin wrapped cars and matte wrapped, not much difference between them.

Frozen blue is tempting! Really not sure what colour now!

So did he assess the paint quality suitablility for wrapping and general body corrosion etc?

Frozen blue would look out of this world good!

Cost for the whole car ~£1,200. This is for 3M vinyl, there are some other brands that are cheaper but I trust 3M.

The wrapping company says:

In terms of timing, we would need the vehicle for 2-3 days. This allows us enough time to fully prep the vehicle prior to commencing the wrap. We have to ensure that all grease/wax/silicone/polymers/build-up are removed from the paintwork with special surface cleaners prior to commencing the wrap otherwise the wrap will fail.

It is also our company policy to remove as many exterior parts as possible in order to deliver the most seamless finish.

I could get it 300-400 cheaper elsewhere, but these guys have done thousands of vehicles and have full diaries and have been around for years. I'd much rather pay a bit more to make sure it's done properly and damage free.

From a cleaning point of view I'm leaning towards frozen blue, just can't decide!!!

needs shadow chrome wheels though.

would be cool if you had tonnes of spare money, could regularly re-colour your car ;)
