Would you fit these to your Zed.

Having just spent a reasonable sum of money fitting EBC Disc's & Pads and finally painting the calipers on my Zed last week, and now trying to while away a bit of time sitting in Hotel room, I was trolling through Ebay and found these

How many of you would fit these to your cars or would the price have you running to the hills thinking whats wrong with them or are they safe, I could be and probably am wrong in so far as they are probably OK.

I'd be worried the pads are counterfeit and made of used toilet paper, whilst the discs could be some cheap casting with in-built casting faults - possibly rejects (but they'd probably be thrown back in the furnace anyway).

I'm not saying you can't get OEM spec discs & pads cheaply though, just have a look at the savings you can get through GSF or ECP, compared to BMW dealer prices.

The dealers have to buy through the BMW network and they put their margin on it after paying a premium to BMW GB to take their margin, then BMW GB pays the manufacturer some knock-down price based on a certain volume.

The aftermarket parts tend to come from the same manufacturer who has produced twice the volume BMW have ordered as it only costs them 30% more to do twice as many. They sell the non BMW marked ones to the aftermarket suppliers and we get the benefit of that.

BTW, OEM ATE front discs at EuroCarParts are £28.95 each - whilst a 'comparable' Eicher ones are £17.50 each.

Guy on E Bay has 99.5% positive feedback....is that because all the ones who wanted to complain about the poor quality of the discs are dead??? :)

Yeah - right. I'd love to trust my life in coming down from 155 mph (track permitting) only to then discover the true quality of the kit.

As mmm-five comments counterfeits pads and crap discs.

Personally i'd buy some discs from a manufacturer that i'd heard of.

I'll second this motion. I'd go with discs that people on here have used or that you have used before.

They're not proper brakes, these are...
