Would this be a way around the hosepipe ban?

I bought the Hozelock from Halfords last night. I haven't had a chance to try it on the car yet, but did give a quick test this morning.

It is much better built than the £10 weed sprayer I was using. Both are better than using a watering can or buckets.

5L is not going to be enough to pre-wet and rinse a Z4. These pump sprayers don't have a lot of pressure, so you can't use them to clean anything. Just pre-wet and rinse.

It would be great for spot cleaning, doing wheels and so on.

No hose pipe ban here. Just no hosepipe in the front of the house. It is huge pain to run one from the back garden.

I'll post more after I use it to wash our car.

Hows about this for a combo!!!

Hozelock pump sprayer filled with water from one of these http://www.waterspot-filters.co.uk/#

I recon this could knock 15 mins off a quick wash.

I tried the hozelock sprayer this morning. It works reasonably well. If you are going to get a hand pump sprayer, this is the one to buy.

It is a little fragile. Everything is plastic. The wand is certain to snap if you step on it. I wouldn't force anything either. With care it should last several years. It has a little more pressure than my £10 wonder. Good enough to pre-wet and rinse. If you remove the shower head from the end of the lance it has a pathetic water jet. The jet is useful only for removing soap from a crevice. It also uses up the water faster.

You should be able to wash an e89 with 10L of water. I wasn't careful with water and had to refill the 5L bottle twice. I used about 12L total.

I took a couple of short movie clips. If they look useful, I'll post them on youtube.

If you are only using it occasionally or for spot washing, this is perfect. I'll probably get one of the battery powered ones eventually.

Thanks for that. Based on that video I think I'll get myself one of these. Use the £10 voucher I got from Halfrauds for spending £80 on car cleaning stuff today :)
