Would they or wouldn't they?

It has been done before.

The bronze Z4 with M3 style exhaust has these.

just looked through the link....WOW!!! that Zed is fantastic. really like the colour and the colour matched seat backs. the exhausts are great too. i was looking at doing that to my rear but was told it would be too difficult......Now having a re-think.
  Cheers for the link srhutch

I still don't know how he achieved such a professional finish using a £18 spray gun in a large shed :!: I've seen it in the flesh too.

He was at the Midlands meet last year an car is really good, iirc he's on the list for this year as well

He'll be at the Midlands meet this year too
Also doing the Welsh meet this year (just missed it last year), & attending Duxford again. :D

Jakblade, Seats are a good fit but the runners are slightly narrower than the BMW ones, so had to make up some sub-frame brackets to bolt them to the original mounting points. Bought the seats from a neighbour, normally has them for around £90 a pair, as he plays around with RX8's. Not that far from you, near Boston in Lincs.
Cheers. John.

Any chance of passing his details on or letting him know I'm interested??

Loving your Zed btw, colour is just spot on and the exhaust set-up, well what can I say,,,,,,jealous.....

I was just thinking about this yesterday! How strange  after a long drive, I realised my SE seats give no back support whatsoever. Definitely need new seats and I think I'd sacrifice the heating function to have some decent support.

I'll see if I can pop round to see him at the weekend & see if he has any. Will let you know. Glad you like the car, am happy with the way its turned out so far.
Cheers. John.

Jak if you have any luck finding out how to achieve this (sorting some sub frames & wiring the seats in) could you let me know how you get on? I'd be really keen to do the same and maybe a two for one job could get us a discount.

I assume you're not far from me with the blade reference (won't hold that against you)

Cheers

No probs. just looking down different avenues as well at the moment, if i do happen to swap out seats I will be in touch. As for the blade thing, it has absolutely nothing to do with football. I used to ride a Fireblade but alas no longer..
