Would an E87 (1-series) gear knob fit an E85?

Hey,

The gear knob I have in mind is this one. Looks great and it seems like it's a 5-speed (according to the part number and description, not the picture). The big question is: would an E87 knob, like this one, fit the E85?

I would assume it does, but I'd rather be 100% certain before I go off and buy an expensive knob like that one!

I just fitted one of the BMW performance knobs that was intended for E87, E90 etc and it fits my E85 perfectly. I couldn't find any of the knob I wanted that said they were made for the e85 but a bit of digging revealed that every modern BMW uses the same fitment.

Only problem I can see is that the knob you linked to will have a 5 speed symbol as opposed to the 6 speed shown in the picture.

Nope but I will. I think it will probably be of interest to you since it's alcantara and I got an alcantara gaiter to go with it. Looks and feels lovely. Need to get my wheel sorted next.

My e90 had the ZHP knob and I never really liked the shape or the fact it had an ///M logo on it.
 
Awesome, I just hope they really are 5 speed like suggested by the part number, since I haven't found a photo of this knob yet.
