Evening all,
Well the Z4 didn't sell, had a few people interested but wanted rock bottom prices, and the only person offering full price was a scammer. So have decided to keep for the winter and sell next spring/ summer (oh what a shame.... )
So in less than two weeks I am taking the Z4 and my better half to Corsica via France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Last year she did a similar thing and averaged 37mpg. This year MPG is still reasonable however now that the car is around 8 years old and has done 43K I am thinking of renewing the spark plugs.
THis seems to be a much debated topic, do I leave as is (no real problems except for intermitteant missfire on start up), or do I spend £40 and get some new plugs, potentially improving MPG and smoothness?
I would probably be getting the NGK irdium plugs, though will need to buy a gap adjuster (special wire type not coin type), I can get 6 for around £35.
NGK and also BMW list the NGK BKR6EQUP as the OEM replacement, however on some sites it shows them with 4 electrodes, on others it shows them with just one?
Anyone got any experience on new plugs with a 3.0i? comments much appreciated.
Kind regards
