I dont think that its pointless at all. Some of us are still finding our way around the forum and our car. I have looked in the how to section but I didnt see any reference to a workshop or maintenance manual but thanks for the link. I will download and have a look
 
I used to quite enjoy reading the Haynes manuals, so that I was ready before taking on a job, just a shame they don't do one for the E89.

Hands up who used to "check" the manuals in Halford before buying a car to make sure the annoying issue wasn't too difficult to sort
 
JohnE, just a suggestion/advice...

It’s best to get to understand the newTis and RealOEM but also you need to decode your vin number to see what options are fitted..

There is a bewildering array of options for each car and a myriad of minor / major changes over time...without the vin decode including build date you can inadvertently start to follow a set of instructions / order parts that are plain wrong...don’t ask me how I know.. :thumbsup:
 
Yes i would look at the Haynes manual before buying a car. Nice to know the information is available.
I still have my first car TR7 manual, with appropriate dirty and greasy pages.
