Woohoo Mustang is finally coming to the UK!

(this means something different to me too)

Mustangs have good prices, relatively than BMW, Mercedes and Lexus, but the quality of the inferior is low, its not a BMW :( .
if bought - need remake, all plastic in the cabin was covered with leather, make noise insulation and other...

If in fact the new Euro model Mustang is upgraded to sell there, perhaps we could get lucky and the improvements may come back across the pond  ... but I doubt it. They sell here to the "Wow, I finally got the muscle car I always wanted" crowd. they don't need to put anything in to improve the car car because they already sell lots to us babyboomers. My pal has a GT500 and a Shelby and he never drives them.... too busy working.

And DarkBMw is spot on, the interior fit and finish will be a big disappointment, unless they upgrade that too ...and as I said , lets hope they upgrade it all and send it home to America as an example.

OK So I'll reserve final judgement until I've driven it, seen what it costs etc.... still want one tho... :P

Yeah, and I still want a Boss 302 for some insane reason...don't know why, must be going back to my "13 year old" brain I guess.

Yup, the interior (and exterior for that matter, flexy boot on the corvette is a right laugh) of the 3 'merican cars i borrowed were all pretty poor. I believe they all sell for what we would probably think is silly low money for an engine of that size so i guess the costs are cut somewhere..... all though most of the mechanical parts did give the impression that they had been drawn with paper and pen many years ago so I dare say the R&D has been absorbed many times over.

When I look at things like the Focus ST, RS and the Fiesta ST it's very clear that ford know their onions when it comes to making something that drives well and handles. I really rate the drive of those cars as being some of if not the best in class. I suspect the American "wing" of the operation don't talk to the guys that built and designed those cars though.

before our time ran all the power, reliability and quality. and now run all marketing and sales.
unfortunately :(

I have an E34 M5 - machine is made with great care and love, such as new cars, I do not feel it yet. :?
All stuffed with electronics. Stickers M hung on diesel X5 ...

So it is with the Mustangs

Completely different mentalities.....The Euro Fords are waaay better . I started with a Cortina GT , then a V6 Capri ...all imports to North America.

All I can say is Good Luck and lets hope they give youse guys a good one, maybe "Something to write home about"

Bump: Just came back from errands and stopped at the Ford Dealership on my way. It seems that we are getting the same car as Europe.
The OLD Mustang is going bye bye. Upgraded interior, more toys, better suspension (I saw the pics on the salesmans' computer). Looked very interesting and priced reasonably. Should be arriving here in North America in late 2014.

I think you have something to look forward to

Sorry the side view reminds me of the Hyundai coupe :( much rather have a Vauxhall Monaro , but yes it would not be new :)

Pretty sure quality/function/NVH targets will be common between US and Eu... So hopefully have a trade off/up on good qualities either side of the pond...

If it's truly a global car, increased volume always brings with it lower costs for same quality...

Wait for it to be here and an arse/ass in the seat before forming an opinion that's all I would say!

When they announced it as 'Pony car' on internal mail I had a cheeky chuckle to myself! I just hope I get promoted before they are released so can get one :driving:

Will this come over in RHD or just LHD version? I expect for European version we should read mainland Europe...

That's a fine looking thing.
Will wait for a UK verdict on the handling.
Here's hoping it better than the last one.

I really liked the looks of the previous mustang. It looked like a muscle car. The new one doesn't - it looks odd and a bit, how can I put this? weedy!

It will depreciate like nothing else ever seen too. You'd be better off setting fire to your wallet.

I'm curious and will probably hire one next time I'm in the US to check it out. I drove the first of the "retro" Mustangs on the PCH and while it's a great atmospheric car, it was crap to drive. The accelerator should be renamed the loud pedal as that's all it did. A floating rear axle just ruined it.

I had a newer one last trip but with the smaller v6 engine and it was a better sorted car, and quicker than the V8 I had first time so interested to see what the brand new one will be like.
