Won't Start '03 160,000 Miles

Replaced the heater inlet pipe and water pipe (11531705210,11537502525). With the intake manifold out installed new ccv hoses (AM). Cranked up fine let it idle for 30 min. then drove it a couple miles around the neighborhood to monitor engine temp.. Everything was great! Decided to return home and work on the headlights - parked in the shade on a slight slope with the nose up rear down and began removing the bumper. After remounting to left headlight and with the right still out needed to move it because it was getting dark. Battery was low so did an attempt engine start with 225amp and it would crank but not start. Pushed it into backwards off the slope and started to diagnose. Fuel pump good - heard it every time. Fuel line good - the injection rail was pressurized. Noticed two of the ccv hoses where loose and reconnected them. Dad started the car with a fuel soaked rag and it ran multiple times. We're thinking it's electrical and we're testing the fuses and relays. Any thoughts?

Morning

Hard to tell as there are so many factors in play there-

As a complete guess I’d say it’s something to do with fuel supply if it can be started with assistance

Put a code reader on it and check for any codes should be first move. Bad camshaft or crankshaft sensors could be your problem, they should set codes if they are the cause.

No Pulse on Fuel INJ Update:
× No codes with basic OBD2.
× Shipped DME to get repaired/tested by professional.
× Reinstalled – same original problem cranks no start.
× Scanned with 1.4 BMW scanner it gave me vehicle information but could not connect with the DME only EGS.
× Installed NEW DME, EWS and key cylinder.
× Same problem DME is not found and will crank no start.
× Rechecked e-box fuses
× Tested fuel INJ and DME relay again – good.
× Tested INJ rail for power – good.
× Bought ISTA.
× Working on crankshaft/camshaft sensors now.
Note: Did more troubleshooting, those were some highlights.
Side note: IDK if it’s related or not but the “key in” beeping reminder would not stop beeping with the key out so broke the annoying speaker inside the cluster probably not related but it kept draining the battery…

Update: Z4 is alive!

Even though the ebox fuses were checked multiple times - tested again and the F2 fuse was blown which leads to the Idle Speed Actuator. Took out the ISA and cleaned it. Installed it back with new fuse and the ISA started buzzing. But is cranked! Now, waiting on new ISA and trying to fix a phantom drain, something with the "key in" reminder chime beeps (even when the key is out and door closed). Also, the OBD2 scanner will read codes - the DME is found... idk why it would not before!?

Thank you all for the assistance! :D
