Wiring and coding of optional features : Dimming Wing Mirrors + Elec Seat Bases

Do all the E86’s come pre-wired for options such as electric seats and auto dimming mirrors?

🚗 I have a 2006 E86 3.0Si SE 🚗

Seats
Currently I’ve got heated M Sport seats (upgraded by a previous owner) on manual bases. The runners are looking rather tired, so I’ve been looking at refurbing or replacing them. If I replace, I might look into getting electric bases instead of the existing manual ones.

I found this how to guide in the forum. It seems that with a bit of patience it's not too bad a job.

Questions:
• Are all 2006 Coupes pre-wired for electric bases?
• And does any coding need to be done to enable them?

Auto-dimming mirrors

Currently I have electric folding mirrors with standard heated glass - non dimming. I'm considering retrofitting auto-dimming OEM variants.
At night, the lights from following cars get rather uncomfortable/distracting, especially in town, which is where I do most of my driving.

I’ve found a set of used auto-dimming mirrors, complete with wiring loom for the auto-dimming connectors.

I see that the mirrors have their own control module (original part 6135 6915061 / replacement 6135 9177975), which I assume lives behind the door panel?

I've looked through loads of images of the different mirror options and it seems they all share the same connector block, but the auto-dimming versions have 7 wires rather than 5. I assume the additional 2 wires connect to the dimming terminals on the mirror glass.

Questions:
• Has anyone done this before? I've not found any guides in the forum.
• Will the car be pre-wired to take these and will any coding be required to enable them?
• Will I need a different mirror control module?

My interior, rearview mirror is auto-dimming (and now works a treat).
