Drivers wiper has stoped working near side works fine help needed to fix

Check if the screw which holds the wiper arm is loose.
The same happened to me 18 months ago. The ball joint that fixes within the wiper arm is made of plastic 
over time it wears away and spins within the socket. Unfortunately BMW do not provide a replacement so had to buy a complete unit. There are some members who have successfully drilled through the worn ball and put a small bolt through them. Best of luck.
