Wipers Faulty - a mind of their own!!

I recently had another (bank 1 pre-cat) oxygen sensor fitted to my M. The day after the wipers behaved oddly, just the once, basically a single downward push for a quick wipe set them on full and then they wouldn't switch off!

I had to stop the car as no input to the stalk did anything and turn off the ignition to stop the wipers. They've seemed OK'ish since then, maybe they're not parking correctly and I now get about three wipes for a single push down on the stalk.

Today they went off at full steam again and again I had to stop the car and turn off the ignition to stop them. No action on the stalk had any effect on them at all.

So, firstly what's wrong and is it just likely to be a coincidence it kicked off the day after it came back from the garage?
