Wiper Well Drain Missing Part?

Beneath the scuttle on the left side is a cavity for water to collect and drain. My 2006 simply has a hole in the metal about one inch in diameter and the water drains directly into the engine compartment. There is no duct/plumbing to direct the water to the bottom of the engine compartment. I've checked with a few BMW dealers and they were useless. If you have an E85 I would appreciate if you would check your car and let me know if something inserts in the hole and directs the water properly. For reference, the hole is directly behind the Positive jumper terminal. You should be able to easily feel the bottom of the drain hole (or some part attached to the drain hole) without removing anything e.g. the scuttle. Thanks for checking, I appreciate the help.

Dont have a pic, but yes, there’s a 90 degree bend short rubber hose that slots in there usually.

Thanks Chris D, here is a diagram that shows what I believe to be the parts, items 8 & 9. It is called a condensation drain by BMW; they though it was associated with the air conditioning drainage and not the wiper well drain. Is this the part you are referring to? I plan on ordering the part but it is quite expensive, and non returnable so I am trying to get this right.

Something to consider, perhaps this drain/part gets clogged easily and it was removed intentionally to improve drainage under the scuttle. Anyone have any thoughts on that concept? Thanks.

I realised your car will be lhd and those components are for the left side of the car of course.
The drain port I thought you were referring to is on the right side of the scuttle on my/rhd car and looks completely different.

Yes indeed, two different animals lhd & rhd. Hopefully someone with a lhd can confirm if that's the correct part. Thanks for getting back to me. :)
