Wiper arm fix

Been trying to do this fix http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=55535 for the wiper blades not always going back down to the resting position. The only problem is I'm having real trouble with step 6. Two of the screws it doesn't matter how many times a spin it does not become any looser and the other two are so threaded already by a previous owner I can't get any traction on them. Anyone else had this issue and got a way around this like just ripping them out.

I have recently done this fix myself and I had the same problem. Removing those screws is a bloody nightmare!!! The screws in my car were untouched before. Never-the-less the moment I tried unscrewing them, they got threaded (the screw heads got screwed themselves...). It is just an awful design. I managed to get 2 of them out, but the last two, got stuck on the plastic cowl with no screw head left. So I basically had to hack them off with a combination of modeling knife, flat head screwdriver and a hammer.

Luckily, I knew that this could happen, so I bought the replacement screws before even attempting this. If you are going to remove them by force, be careful not to brake the thin sections of the cowl which go under the screw heads. Also when removing the cowl, be extra careful not to break the plastic pins that hold the thing in place on the windscreen side.

Cheers for that I'm not alone then. Where did you manage to pick the screws up from? Have you got a part number.

Found this on realoem but it doesn't show the screws.m,ay be number 2?
 
Hello again. I bought an assorted set of bmw trim clips from Amazon. I replaced the ones on the car with matching size ones from the set. The ones I used have a different mechanism. They don't have screw heads. You just push them in and they squeeze into place. I didn't want the OEM parts as clearly they aren't great. I will try to see if I can find it from my Amazon history tomorrow.
