Winter wheels and offsets

Currently got a set of M359's on the car with a 225/40/18 8J ET 38, but i'm looking at changing to a set of winter wheels for the season.

I've spotted a set with 225/45/17 7.5J ET20, which is no problem for the rear but the front will allegedly stick out 11mm more so fitment will be tight, has anyone had any experience with that sort of wheel offset?

These would stick out 20mm more in the front than a set of 108's for reference.

Forgot to mention the car is also on H&R springs :| :oops: :oops:
 
I recently put a set of 295s (an E89 wheel) on my E86 and according to "willtheyfit" the fronts sit 18mm further out than the original 108s as they are ET29 (makes sense really as the 108s are ET47). :roll:

It's on standard Sport suspension AFAIK - no issues with rubbing so far, although they've only been on a couple of months.

But if they are winters you aren't going to be driving it that hard on them. I'd take a chance on them, but I don't know whether your springs will make a difference - it probably depends how much lower they are.

If I can get them for the right price I’m going too, if not can always get my money back somewhere, the springs are 35mm ones 😂

If you do get an issue with rubbing and decide to move them on, please let me know as I think they might fit my E91! :)
