Winter Tyres - Know these makes?

Our Alpin A4 are very V-ee
The exception that proves the rule

But for comparison you'll see below that the higher performance winter tyre from Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 does not have such an exaggerated V shape...

Just fitted Avon ice touring 225 on second hand 17 inch rims. Went out for the first time yesterday when it was 5 degrees in Pembrokeshire. Steering felt really light - is this normal? Normally have 18s with 255s on the back.Going to check the pressures when the downpour here stops!

If the tyres are new, they'll feel very light for the first few hundred miles while you run them in. After that, you should notice much improved grip. Good idea to get the running in done before the really bad weather hits!
