Winter storing a z4

Afternoon all, in the absence of a garage, what is the best way to store the zed over the winter months? Was thinking I've a cover, but anything else?

Not much apart from a weatherproof car cover and taking the battery out and keeping it charged, if you have the space then something like this might be an idea,

Unless its a real low miler in concourse condition why would you miss out on those crisp winter days ?
Wrap up warm , heater on full & enjoy it 12 months a year

75k '05 model. I bought it as a keeper , and summer car with the wife. Will the car be ok if I remove the battery? Do I need to start her up at all???

If you have access to the mains then I would leave the battery in situ and hook up a CTEK battery conditioner, I'm unsure on the Z4 re battery removal. Once the car is in storage its better not to start it occasionally as all your doing is creating condensation in the exhaust etc. I would leave the handbrake off and out of gear but may be a problem is stored outside. Give the car a good run before storing.

No don't remove battery don't keep starting it up either , a trickle charger is the way even if you just attach it for 24/48 hours every week or so

Be careful with covers, the should be flock lined and fit snug; my friends TVR T350 now needs a full respray after its winter cover worked loose and rubbed the paint off at the edges where the straps were.

Cover would be a last resort for me , heard so many similar tales of swirls & scratches from the least bit of movement
If a cover is to be used 3,4,5 months whilst standing outside id even consider once the car is 100% cleaned / polished to cover with clingfilm before fitting can't do any harm
