Someone on zroadster asked the same question - the consensus was it's fibre glass reinforced plastic (link). The weight will be due to the metal parts and the glass as well - its not that heavy, just awkward (unless you have the hoist).

Interesting. It certainly sounds metallic when u tap it. I can pick up and fit my mums mgb hardtop myself and its also grp. Has a big glass panel forming almost the entire roof section too.
The z4 hardtop is def a 2-man job.

what winter tyres did u end up with?

and u won't be cryin so much if it starts snowing. the winter tyres make a hell of a difference in snow and ice :thumbsup:
 
Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25, they came with the zed along with the 103s; bought the 107s separately.
