Wing mirror glass - can you transfer locking ring?

Got a replacement heated glass mirror to replace my passenger glass that seems to have been stuck back on badly in the past and was fouling the cover. Is the new glass just a push on fit or is there a way to remove the old locking ring and attach to the new one?

Just needs glued on

I used 3M pad to stick mine on. It was vibrating like mad and someone had already removed and stuck it back on (badly).

Thanks for replies - the new one was a push on fit without needing the locking ring. Used number plate tape to add some extra grip too
