There are something wrong with my wipers. When I turn them on they are in the "right position" but when they return to that position they will go down then up a little bit, like 5-8 cm from the "right position". And the arms on the motor are jumping of the knob hundred of times. I tryed to buy a second-hand motor but eventually it also come off the knob.

It jumps off the knob and i have to press it back again, its the red marked thing that jumps off

How do you solve this problem? It was a normal they said at BMW but it cost 350£ to buy the whole motor with new arm etc

Common fault on the zed its a quick easy DIY fix usually its just grease on the contacts inside the motor.

Will it also fix the thing that makes it jump of the knob?

I don't understand what you mean by that - YouTube video of it?

Cleaning the contacts fixes the parking issue. The linkage disconnecting at the ball (or knob) & socket joint is because the socket bush has worn so much it can no longer retain the ball. Unless someone has started offering a repair kit, the issue requires a new linkage assembly.

I had the driver side fail. It sounds like the plastic ball that is attached to the arm linkage has worn down. If that is the case you cannot buy just the arm. I had to buy a completely new motor and arms :headbang: I do however have a spare motor doing nothing. If anyone can use please contact me to agree a price. From memory it cost over £180 for the whole unit. I hope this helps.

i had a similar thing on a frontera i had years ago, the ball did not look badly worn and it didnt wobble about in the socket much but it was enough that it would pop out. i think the lip of the socket was damaged.
anyway i fixed it by drilling a small hole all the way though the ball and a bigger hole through the top of the socket. i then loosely put a small nut and bolt through it all..
the first attempt didn't work as obviously its a ball so designed to work in 3 dimensions. however when you looked at the motion in the socket i found it worked more or less within the same plane so i widened the socket hole, used a bigger washer to hold it in place very loosely.

it worked fine for 6yrs then i sold the car. if you use a nylock nut it will wont come loose either. it wasnt perfect but near as damn it.

can someone explain the greasing the motor thingy a little more? mine are squeeking so if im going in there to fix that a little bit of preemptive lubing wouldnt be a bad idea.

:D Nice one!

As for the greasing, the usual problem is too much grease, such that it gets into the motor contacts and breaks the circuit. Disassemble as much as possible and carefully grease any moving parts, except for the electric contacts of course. For moving parts that you cannot disassemble, lubricate with heavy oil instead of grease. Of course, remove any old grease, especially if it's where it does not belong.
