WINDSCREEN WASHER JETS

 Co, Durham.
Just lost all the pressure on my washer jets, the motor is working but the water is down to the point where it just reachs the windscreen. Washer bottle is full. There are 2 electric connectors next to the washer jets attached to the bonnet what are those for ???? Any info most welcome.

2 washer jets are 1 for the headlamp washers and the second for the screen

Check the washer bottle is not full of crud. After this Winter I suspect a gel like mess has formed and blocked the pump or jets.
 
The electrical connectors you referred to which you've seen on the jets themselves, just under the bonnet, are for heaters in the jets I believe.
cj10jeeper was referring to the washer bottle itself where there are two electric pumps, one for the windscreen and one for headlamp wash.
cj10jeeper is most likely right with his diagnosis though and your washer bottle will need to come off for a good clean.
Had to do mine recently when headlight wash failed.
 
Sorry - my bad - did not read re the electrical connector correctly. Glass of wine in hand already by then after a long week.....
 
All sorted the washer bottle has two filters where the pumps fit they where covered in gunge. I gave them a good clean and washers are tip top again,

Problem seems to be that some of the screen cleaners create a gunge that blocks everything :thumbsdown:
 
My washer bottle is practically full but like Marky Mark it's only just hitting the bottom of my windscreen. I want to try cleaning the filters you are talking about but I have no idea how to do it. Please could somebody explain what to do!? I had problems last year with my washers and needed a new pump so I'm apprehensive about going to a garage, especially if cleaning these filters are easy. All help will be very much appreciated.
 
Thanks for the advice on this thread. I took my washer tank to the sink and cleaned the filter. Then before refitting it purged the tank from the tap and loads more hidden gunk came flying out of the filter hole. Glad I did that or I would have been back doing it again in about a month.

Only took 10 minutes too.
