Windscreen washer fluid loss

Hi all,

Scratching my head last few weeks to where the leak is coming from. Due to the wet damp weather, i am finding it hard to top up the tank to see where the leak is coming from. It only seems to leak only when the system is used, otherwise it'll sit in the tank and not move.

Is there any common areas where this could occur?

Yeah, I'm guessing you have headlight washers.

What happens is the fluid freezes in the line to the washer and then when you use it, it pushes the line off the headlight washer. Then every time you use it, it just dumps the entire bottle on the ground.

I've heard that you can fix this without taking the bumper off but I think, at least the first time you need to take the bumper off. A search on here for that will lead to a "how to".

In my case all I had to do was put the clip that holds the line on in some hot water to soften it and then bend it so that it holds tighter. Then put it all back together.

Top job, I am hoping for something like this. Winter isn't the best time to do any proper work.

Cheers

Try the inspection hatch first to ensure it's the lights it will be wet in there also your fog lights might have water in which is a dead give away
