Windscreen removal

Anyone ever successfully removed a windscreen?
Just picked up a breaker that has a brand new screen fitted and wondered if it could be got out and whether it would be any use to anyone if I could?
 
I'd have it off you like a shot but I've no idea about refitting it!

I think they just pull all the trim off and then cheese wire them out. Just renewed an insurance policy for the X5 yesterday and the windscreen excess was £15. Just hoping it's similar on the E46 and Z as both of them need screens (don't ask!)

Well, what's to lose then. I may as well have a go.
Be a little while as I need to keep it weather proof for a bit yet.

A nice little learning exercise if nothing else. Thinking about it, I bet YouTube has videos of the glass people doing it.
