Windscreen count

I had two in a month once... getting one changed is just a ball ache, feel for you

3 here on the same car. Never claimed before I got a Z4.

First one was because it already had a chip when I bought it, so I guess you could say 2 windscreens of my own doing.

Actually need another one now as it had bad scratches in my line of sight.

Had 2 in the Z4MC in 140,000 miles.

One was about 2 years ago, and due to heavy accumulation pin-prick chips covering about 1000% of the screen which made it difficult to see when the light refracted through them differently.

The other was about a year ago, from a stone chip I got at the 'ring that turned into a 24" horizontal crack once the windscreen guy tried to repair it by injecting it with resin.

Also recently got one for the Alfa, but that was because I couldn't live with all windscreen wiper scratch lines.

As of today I'm up to 6 in the past 4 years
My cars must be some sort of stone magnet :D
Whats the front like for stone chips. :|

Not a mark on it , it happened yesterday on my touring on the motorway , worst part of it is I was collecting something for a job I'm doing at mates rates , by the time I pay the excess ill be making all of £20 a day , I should have stayed in the house and watched daytime tv
The previous 5 windscreens were on my wife's a5 , she got one replaced and it got cracked again 3 days later , just unlucky .

I know how you feel, our previous Mazda 6 had two inside nine months from stones getting flicked up by white van man.

Crikey six :o . If memory serves I have had two in 38 years driving. :D Fingers crossed.

In my old e36, the wiper came of the arm one night and the windscreen got scored, the windscreen guy fitted new windscreen and forgot the arm was spring loaded..broke it before the glue had even set!!

so as follows

E36 x 2 Windscreens
E46 Compact x 1 windscreen
Vr6 Cabriolet 2 x windscreens (was a stone chip queen)

It sounds like I have been lucky with only 2 in 40 years!

First was my Leon Cupra in 2003, second was my 123d in 2011 - both times on roads that had just been resurfaced using the cheapskate tar and stones method.

Off to cross my fingers now!

Never had a new screen till i went into z ownership.
1 in the Z3 in 15months .and so far its 4 in the Z4 in five n half years but another 1 is needed now .

My daily driver Honda Civic has had two replacements in the last eight months. Cost is about the same as my insurance deductible so I do not make a claim. When I had the Porsche Boxster, I had taken out a separate windscreen policy, as I expected that I would need to replace the glass soon due to the car's history of coming from Texas, and the glass was all sandblasted in addition to having two significant chips but with no cracks yet. Had even contemplated helping matters along with a ball-peen hammer, but never had the nerve. When I sold the Porsche, I transferred the policy to the Z4. So far, with three cars, the only victim has been the Honda.
