Windows opening random amount and doing strange things

Hello everybody,

I have a sDrive35i DKG model, which has strange things happening with the windows:

  • Sometimes when closing them (closing them explicitly or during roof opening/closing process) it looks like the safety protection triggers and they go down again after being almost closed, so I have to close them again. It just looks like anti-catch system is just too sensible. This happens only to the passenger door window.
  • Even stranger, sometimes when I open a door, instead of opening one inch, it opens a random amount: sometimes it stops half way, sometimes at two thirds, etc. When I close the door it closes the window correctly.
What could be the problem with my windows? Are the famous window regulators failing?

Next, the issue has a fix, speak with your dealer, it requires either recoding or a relay that operates the windows differently to resolve this issue.
As for that different height of the windows, there should only be two options, part down to open the window and 3/4 way down for 'comfort entry' This happens if you click the open button on the fob twice. Its for entry into the car in tight spaces.
 
I've had intermittent window opening but mine don't close on locking so u have to double check and not assume they are all properly closed
